During Prof. Glass’s sabbatical in Seattle, Jim Holbery (Microsoft Applied Sciences Group, Advanced Materials & Mechanics Team Lead) invited him to give a seminar at Microsoft. (Thanks to ECE’s Joey Andrews for the introduction to Jim. Joey is on an internship at Microsoft this summer). After the talk, Jeff received a nice tour of the Microsoft campus (a small city!) and some of the hardware development labs. Exciting work was described in display technology, ergonomics, optics and audio engineering. The photo here shows Jeff and Jim, in “the quietest place on Earth” one of www.guinnessworldrecords.com/news/2015/10/microsoft-lab-sets-new-record-...">http://www.guinnessworldrecords.com/news/2015/10/microsoft-lab-sets-new-..." target="_blank">Microsoft’s anechoic chambers!
